Director of Dining implements sanitation and safety guidelines at Nichols Village
Jim Dinges, director of dining reports, “though providing dining services during COVID is challenging we have begun implementing a strict service protocol aligned with the health and safety guidelines recommended by the CDC and state of Massachusetts, with the ultimate goal in mind to provide healthy meals to our residents as safely as possible.
Dining Protocol ~ Sanitation and Safety are of utmost importance.
· Dining staff members are required to have temperatures taken and health screenings before beginning their work shift.
· Dining staff members are required to wear masks and gloves for the duration of their work shift. Gloves are changed regularly between tasks.
· Clean and sanitize kitchen three times per day. Disinfectant is used on all nobs, handles and doors and is recorded in a log to ensure completion.
· No contact lunch and dinners are being delivered to residents in the comfort of their own homes. Delivery fees are waived during this time as food delivery is an essential need. Residents may call to order lunch with a choice of sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. They may do the same with dinner and may choose from a variety of hot, hearty, and healthy options of soup, salad, hot entrees, desserts, and beverages.
